About Petr Zelenka Quartet

The repertoire of Petr Zelenka Quartet consists of originals. The compositions are inspired by contemporary jazz, classical and popular music. They are influenced as well by folk music (moravian, scandinavian, arabian) and indian classical music. Simple and easy-to -remember melodies provide the unity of the program despite the variety of influences and inspirations.
The quartet has been working since the leader's stay in Paris 5 years ago. The sidemen he has chosen are ideal partners to interprete his music. Their playing brings always new ideas and fresh energy and still serves the dreamy world of his compositions.
